I stayed at the Hyatt for a couple of nights a few weeks ago. Overall it's a decent hotel. It's pretty well-located; a bit of a walk from New Street Station, but it's very convenient for a lot of the major attractions in the city. Staff at check-in were really welcoming. I did spend quite a lot of time during my stay waiting for lifts, which I guess is just a downside of it being a big, high-rise hotel with lots of guests. The room was very spacious, albeit a bit dated (especially the bathroom). What really bothered me was that I'd paid Em excesso for an upper-floor room to get views of the city, but the windows were FILTHY.
I booked the Hyatt for my wife's birthday. The room on the 21st floor was fantastic with great views over Birmingham. Bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom very tidy.
Staff were great but despite us being the only table they served (yes.. our seis were the only people earing all night) they STILL messed up 4 dishes that were served. Defrosted fish tasted mushy, linguini was sent back. They need a new chef.
However, my experience was marred by the unprofessional behavior of the room supervisor. She barged into our room without knocking, and treated us like criminals. She did not apologize for her behavior, and I felt like my privacy had been violated. Barging into a guest's room without knocking is unacceptable, and it is a violation of the guest's right to privacy.
Wow! Can't believe this is a 2* (I would have guessed 4*) but can certainly see why it is so highly rated. The suites are well equipped and clean and the staff very friendly. However, the icing on the cake was the breakfast. Advertised as a complimentary breakfast, our expectations weren't high - a cold buffet was what we pictured.

Absolutely lovely place. Made my birthday so special. Staff were so nice and friendly. Girls at the front desk were very kind and helped us through membership, bar staff were friendly and welcoming, and the manager went above and beyond. Five out of five, would reccomened.
To cleaners.Couldn't fault this place if I tried. Hotel lobby is so beautiful. I can see why there was business clients there and personal clients.First Hyatt, hope all like this. Brilliant

Room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfy and slept well, not hearing any noise from other rooms or guests. I had breakfast here. It was nice and a great selection of cooked and continental options.
Free parking, lots of food and entertainment places to visit. Would recommend to all. See what takes your fancy from the football to the cinema and restaurants.
Worst branch of Genting I have ever visiting. The staff members are very rode and not at all welcoming. Seems they do not want the guests to play at all and just want to sit idol.
